Where has the time gone? I feel like I haven't updated my blog in a very long time, and it is true... but partly because I haven't had much time for new personal work! There aren't any pictures in this post, but I felt it necessary to fill my readers in on what's been going on in my life!
As you probably know already, I spent three weeks traveling in Israel and Jordan in January and February this year. Upon my return, I jumped right into the start of a busy Easter season at work. Shortly after Easter, I experienced a significant loss in my family. That very same day, I was offered a promotion at my job. On April 30th, I began commuting an hour each way to and from work. I did the long commute for a few weeks, and started packing up my belongings from my childhood home. I feel so fortunate that I was able to live at home with my family after graduating from college. I don't believe I would have made it this far without the wonderful support of my parents. Finally, the time came to move out.
In June, I applied and was accepted as an artist for RAW: Natural Born Artists, an independent arts organization for artists, by artists. RAW is open to all creative artists, including independent film, fashion, music, visual art, performing art, hairstylists, makeup artists and more. (More information about the organization can be found here.) I will be participating in a one-night art show tomorrow on July 18th! This is the first art show I have ever participated in. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous, but I am definitely excited too! I wish my Grandmother was still here to experience this major accomplishment with me, but I know she would be proud of me.
I hope everyone's having a great summer. I'm just trying to stay cool. These heat waves are a pain. I can't wait for Autumn.
